Reporting Machine Problems
The vending
machines on this campus vend over 1.5 million units per year and, as a result,
do sometimes malfunction. Reporting a problem machine is as easy as dialing
extension 2465. The number connects you directly with the Vending Department
Office. You can explain the problem to the person who answers the phone or leave
a message on the Department's voice mail. The more information you can give us
about the problem, the faster we can correct it. Please tell us which machine
(the number if you know it, or simply the brand name, i.e. Coke, Pepsi, Snack),
the location, and a brief description of the problem. It helps us to know if you
used coins or a dollar bill; if the machine gave you back change but did not
vend; if the machine gave you any type of message on the display screen; or what
you specifically were trying to select. Vending Department personnel will
contact the appropriate company as soon as the problem is reported. Canteen,
Coke, and Pepsi make every effort to correct the problem as soon as they can.
We want your use of the campus
vending machines to a pleasant experience. We view customer's calls to report
any problems as beneficial in our meeting this goal.
Request for Service
Requests for the placement of
vending machines should be made in writing and sent to the Vending Department.
Decisions as to the placement of vending machines are made on criteria specific
to the type of machine. All placements are subject to approval by the building
authority responsible for the space in question.
If a modification of a current
vending site is desired please send a letter requesting the change. The letter
should be specific in: terms of the desired change, whether a utility source is
available to supply the machine, and how the change will benefit the building
users.
Any utility improvement that
needs to occur to accommodate the initial installation into a new building is
done so at the expense of the Vending Department. Utility changes resulting from
a request to move machines from an initial installation location to another
location in the same building or the installation of a machine outside the
primary location will be the responsibility of the requesting department.
