Before a large or specialized mailing gets too far
into the planning stage, include the
Mail Service
Supervisor in your mailing arrangements. This
person can be of assistance to you to ensure your mailing
program is cost effective, efficient and timely. FAILURE
TO COMPLY EXPLICITLY WITH USPS RULES CAN CAUSE YOUR MAIL TO
BE REJECTED.
Advance notice is required to effectively handle and
process large USPS mailings. Any mailing of USPS mail
consisting of 2,500 pieces or more is considered a large
mailing.
Large campus mailings (more than 300 addressed
pieces) must be sorted by campus box number prior to
delivery to Mail Services. For convenience in transporting,
large campus mailings should be boxed or bundled in sections
small enough for one person to carry.
