Who
can have a 49er Account?
The 49er Account is available to all UNC
Charlotte students, faculty and staff and resides on their existing UNC
Charlotte 49er ID card.
Where can I
get new or a replacement ID card?
ID cards are obtainable through the ID office
located on the second floor of Cone University Center across from Main Street
Market. Working hours are 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Mon-Fri and the contact number is
704-687-2492. Replacement cards are $10 cash or check only.
As a
visitor, how do I make copies and print from the Library's computers which both
require a 49er Account for payment?
Visitors may purchase a 49er Visitor Card from the VTS machines located in the Info Commons (1st floor) and the copier area (2nd
floor). The machine will deduct fifty cents (.50) from the value when you
purchase it, but it is reusable. You may add as much value as you need now or
on each subsequent visit. NOTE! The VTS machines do not give change.
The 49er Visitor Card may be used anywhere the 49er
Account is accepted. It may be used for purchases from the Copy Center,
vending machines, the Bookstore, the Cone Center Candy Counter, the Game Room in
the SAC and dining facilities.
You may also have copies made in the UNC
Charlotte Document Center, 2nd Floor of the Atkin's Library. The hours are as
follows: UNC Charlotte Document Center's normal operating hours of 8 am to 8 pm,
Monday through Friday, 2 pm to 6 pm, Saturday, & 2 pm to 6 pm, Sunday.
I have an
Optional Dining Account (ODA). Will that work in the Library for copies
and prints?
No. The Optional Dining Account and can only be used in dining facilities and the two
convenience stores on campus. As a meal plan, it will save you the 8.5% sales tax on prepared food. The 49er Account
is a debit account used in place of cash and is totally separate.
Where can I
spend money deposited in my 49er Account?
The 49er Account is required payment for copies
and prints. The 49er Account may be used to make purchases at the Bookstore,
the Cone Center Candy Counter, the Game Room in the SAC, and for Parking and
Library fines. The campus
vending machines and washer/dryers accept the 49er Account as payment. You may
even use the 49er Account in all dining facilities and the two convenience
stores on campus. NOTE! You will pay 8.5% sales tax when using this account in
dining facilities as this account is considered a cash payment and not a meal
plan.
How do I
set up a 49er Account?
The 49er Account should already be programmed on
your UNC Charlotte 49er ID card. All you have to do is to deposit money to it.
Where do I
make deposits to my 49er Account?
There are THREE ways to add money to your
account.
- VTS machines take $1, $5, $10, and $20 dollar
bills. The machines do not give change. There are four machines on campus.
There are two machines in the Atkins Library; one in the 1st floor Info
Commons; one in the 2nd floor copier area. There is one machine in the
Barnard Computer Commons, and one machine in the Residence Dining Hall.
- The 49er Card Office located in room 148 of
the Auxiliary Services building and the ID Office located in the Cone Center
are equipped to take cash, checks, and credit
cards. These offices are open 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Deposit funds ONLINE by visiting our
website
www.auxiliary.uncc.edu.

Will the
49er Card Office do automatic drafts from my credit card or checking account?
No. The 49er Card Office is required to obtain
an authorization signature each time they send a charge through.
If I use my
credit card to put money into my 49er Account, will the amount be classified a
purchase or a cash advance by my card company?
All credit card deposits accepted for the 49er
Account are classified as purchases.
What if I
lose my card?
Report a lost or stolen card immediately either
in person or by telephone to the ID Office (704-687-2492) during normal
business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. If after hours, report the lost or stolen card to your RA or
the Campus Police. When a card is lost or stolen, the account balance cannot be
protected until the card is reported. You may also suspend the use of your card
online, if you have registered as a cardholder at
www.auxiliary.uncc.edu .
Will I get
a monthly statement on my 49er Account?
No. If you need a detailed
statement of transactions, you may request one from the 49er Card Office at any
time.Any copier reader will show you your balance. Your balance is
also present on any receipt from the Bookstore and dining facilities. You may
also obtain a balance from any of the 4 VTS machines. The cardholder is
responsible for observing the transaction debited at the point and time of sale
and for monitoring his/her own account. |
