Transactions
You can now use your 49er ID Card in many more places on campus other than
Campus Dining Services facilities. In all cases, you'll save time because
using the 49er ID Card, with the 49er Account, is so much faster than using
cash.
Campus Dining Services Facilities
You can put a meal plan on your 49er ID Card. There are several meal plans
available, ranging from all- you-can-eat full meals served in the two main
dining facilities to plans with varying levels of "declining balance" funds
that can be used for other food purchases. Declining balance funds allow you
to make purchases in campus retail eating facilities such as: Chick-Fil-A,
The Prospector Cafe, Burger King, Main Street Market, Pizza Hut, and all
campus "C" (convenience) stores. Declining balance funds are withdrawn from
this account every time you use the 49er ID Card for food or drink at any
campus dining facility. Once you have a meal plan, just give your 49er ID
Card
to the cashier when you purchase food. Your account will automatically be
debited and you can check the remaining balance after every transaction.
With a 49er Account, you can use your 49er ID Card for food purchases in any
Campus Dining Services facility without purchasing a meal plan. Designed for
students who don’t have a meal plan, this added feature allows students
with a 49er Account to buy food anywhere on campus. Remember, food purchased
this way doesn't qualify as a meal plan and is subject to NC Sales Tax.
Buy products at any on-campus convenience store with your 49er Account and
you’ll have no need to find enough change or cash to buy a toothbrush or a
candy bar late at night.
Copy Center
The campus Copy Center accepts the 49er Account, along with cash, as
payment. Check out their services. They offer binding, full-color copies,
oversized copies, transparencies, and a large selection of paper colors and
weights. They also provide faxing services.
Copiers
Your 49er Account gives you the ability to make copies on any public copier
on campus. There are 55 copiers equipped with debit card readers on campus.
Just put the card in the swipe channel, slide it to the bottom, and leave in
place. Once you've made all the copies you need, remove the card. It's that
simple.
The cost per copy is just 7¢ per page.
The copier readers are a convenient place to check the balance in your 49er
Account. Just slide the card down the swipe channel and leave in place. The
balance on your card will appear. You do not have to make a copy and your
account does not get charged.
Computer Printers (Labs & Library)
All public use computer labs and the Atkins Library charge for printing.
Your 49er Account allows you to pay for your printing. When you send your
file to the printer, a "pop-up" window appears for you to name your file.
The window will also allow you to protect your print file with a password.
After filling in the information, you go to the print release station, swipe
your 49er ID Card in the reader attached to the keyboard, and choose your print
file. On the screen you will see the number of pages and the total cost of
your print job. Just release your print job, exit the screen, pick up your
printing, and go on your way.
The cost for black and white printing is just 7¢ per page. There is a color
printer available on the 1st floor of the library. You'll pay 50¢ per page
if you use this printer.
UNC Charlotte Bookstore
The UNC Charlotte Bookstore now accepts the 49er Account. With appropriate
funds in your 49er Account, you will be able to purchase items from the UNC
Charlotte Bookstore. Just give your 49er ID Card to the cashier, and you’re on
your way. No waiting to make change, verify credit or call for check
approval. Encourage your friends to get a 49er Account and use their 49er ID
Cards, too, and lines for books and supplies will be a thing of the past.
Vending Machines
Use your 49er Account at any of the many reader-equipped vending machines on
campus and you’ll never have to wait for change, find change or try
numerous dollar bills before the bill acceptor accepts one of them. Just
swipe your 49er ID Card and get your stuff.
Laundry Facilities
Never be frustrated again because you need to do a load of clothes and
change isn’t available. Simply swipe your 49er ID Card in the reader in any of
the 16 laundry rooms on campus, select the first available machine and start
getting your clothes clean.
Watch for specials, where off-peak service will ensure savings for 49er
Account users only.
Fun & Games
Concessions At Home Basketball Games: Use your 49er Account to purchase food
at home basketball games and save.
Candy Shoppe in Cone Center: Satisfy your sweet tooth by using your 49er
Account to purchase your favorite confection or trail mix at the Cone Center
Candy Shoppe.
Game Room in SAC: Enjoy time with your friends shooting pool or playing
video games in the Game Room in the Barnhardt Student Activities Center.
Your 49er Account is accepted for payment here, too.
On-Campus Access
If you live on campus, your 49er ID Card will give you access to your residence
hall. Just swipe your 49er ID Card in the reader at the applicable entrances
and you’ll be admitted. For security purposes, your 49er ID Card works only in
the residence hall where you live.
As a student, staff or faculty member, your 49er ID Card allows you access to
academic buildings, computer labs, meeting and entertainment venues (Cone
University Center, Belk Gym and the Student Activity Center). Depending on
the hour of access, all you need to do is show your 49er ID Card to an
attendant or swipe it through a reader.
As a student, staff or faculty member, your 49er ID Card allows you to attend
athletic events where tickets are required, check out books and papers from
the library and vote in campus elections. Simply show your Card to the
attendant at the respective venue.
Value Transfer Station (VTS)
You can add money to your 49er Account at four (4) automated Value Transfer
Stations. The machines only accept cash and do not give change. The machines
are located:
